MedExpress will open two centers in the Twin Cities this week and has plans to open up to 19 in Minnesota by the close of 2017. Dr. Frank Alderman, one of MedExpress’s founding physicians and current chief executive of MedExpress, conveyed his desire to grow from its current base of 177 urgent care centers throughout the country to a number “north of 250.” MedExpress was acquired by UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division in the spring of 2015. The company now stands as the largest provider of urgent care services in the nation.
Glenmark Holding LLC congratulates MedExpress and applauds the growth the company has enjoyed. Glenmark is proud to have developed the very first MedExpress for Dr. Alderman and his original physician partners, Dr. Bryan Stuchell, Dr. Christian McCarter, and Dr. Kevin Blakenship, right here in Morgantown, WV in 2002. Glenmark also developed clinics for MedExpress in Latrobe, PA, Mt. Pleasant, PA, Fairmont, WV, and LaVale, Md. In addition, Glenmark developed the original MedExpress corporate headquarters in Morgantown, WV. The site is now used as an administrative office for MedExpress.
